Default Ocala - Marion County, Fla. suspect on foot

9:00 am, Sunday morning, incident that OPD and MCSO is chasing on foot a suspect who fled from a car on the 2500 block at 3rd Avenue in Ocala, near Vanguard School. At 9:15 am K-9 was tracking near the 2100 block a black male, 6 foot, shorts and a grey T shirt near some abandoned houses. The OPD has a description, and name, and thru the OPD database, the name comes up as an archived inmate. The suspects car was checked, and OPD found some 22 caliber ammo, as of 9:30, OPD is beginning to breakdown the search parameter, as the suspect trail went cold near 25th. MCSO and OPD seem to have lost the suspect around 1st and 21st.

10:00 am, Sunday morning... 30th avenue in Ocala,. someone played a joke, and removed the STOP SIGN from the corner, and errected it in the middle of the block in front of someones residence. This was causing some local traffic conditions in front of the residence. The officer on the radio had a little giggle in his voice reporting the incident back to the dispatcher. The officer stated he might be able to remove it from in front of the residence, from where the posted speed limit sign once stood, and that the STOP SIGN itself was not damaged, just relocated by vandals... the officer reports that vandals swopped the stop sign for the speed limit sign on thier respected mounting posts, and that the officer himself can relocate them to thier respective posts. The officer also requests the City come out to resecure the two posted signs tightly to where they rightfully belong.
