Hey guys,

Was wondering if anyone knew what was up with the new florida division of forestry frequencies? I saw them earlier this am on the florida database and so far have not heard any activity in the clay county or surrounding counties areas. Have they switched to these new frequencies or are they still on the old system? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

They will begin narrowbanding and repeaterizing statewide. What you see is what will go into service in phases. Most are still on the old 18 channel plan, though.

Private email messages about freqs. don't get it done for everyone else. Perhaps modifying the new information with the old would help others.

Basically each district continues to use the same frequency as a repeater output it was on before except it has been narrowbanded and is now a repeater. The districts will have multiple repeaters on the same frequencies, but each repeater in a district will have different CTCSS tones on the input.

Attached is a map showing which counties have repeater coverage and which ones don't as of 14AUG09.

Thanks for the map.. Now, I have a question... I don't really understand rebanding... Will I also be able to hear the Nassau and Duval County Channels from Southern Clay County? I know with the new narrowbaned Med Channels in UHF, depending on the state and area, you can only hear ambulance to hospital communications from about 10 miles out from whatever hospital is being called. Unlike before I could hear the Jacksonville and Gainesville Hospitals on the UHF when out of county ambulances were calling the hospitals. I know I am near the Penney Farms DOF tower it is only about 15 miles from me.

OK.... I give.... From this map, how do you know which ones "do" and which ones "don't"?

Default DOF Map

In Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte County we have been redone so that should help you as far as the color goes. Their radio system still stinks.

I can tell you that listening to Myakka on 159.3750 is like listening to fingernails on a chalkboard.

Yeah but... You and I are the only ones to admit the fact. Either that or we're the only "tards" in the group.

Try listening to Myakka on new channel 7 Bravo North Repeater, and that is 151.2950 (156.7) I was going by there on I 75 for the 2 PM test and what ever they bought they should get their money back, although I think its more their techs. On the map subject the items in white have not been done yet.

I nver hear them on 151.2950..... lately, only on 159.3750 and as I said, it's pretty bad. Sounds way off freq. in South Manatee, near University and I-75.

They are loud and clear in Leon County on 159.225 repeater output. Never sounded so good. I am amazed at how much traffic there is... though it isn't very interesting.
