What is the system test for the 14-000 - 14-009 on the east side. Any idea what they may be used for ?

Thanks,
AL

Probably testing signal propagation. Or maybe they've got nothing better to do, lol.

On the west site, LCN #11 is the second control channel (site 19), with recorded test counts being heard on LCNs 12 through 20 on a continous rotating basis. Weird thing is, the TG being used shows up on the east site. At least we know LCNs 12-20 are in the correct order, as the recording adheres to the order shown in the database. There's a lot of wacky patched funky-ness going on right now on the Hillsborough system.

Post Help

I have a Radio Shack Pro-90 and would like to know what I should up grade to in a hand held since HCSO rebanded. Once in awhile I lose a little bit of a conversation while trunking since there re-band. I really just listen to HCSO & TPD.
Thanks AL

Are you listening to HCSO on your PRO-90? According to the wiki, a PRO-90 doesn't do EDACS systems.

Also, when EDACS systems reband, it only involves dropping the freqs down 15MHz, in which you would change your programmed frequencies in your scanner. If it was a Motorola system that was rebanding to say the 700MHz range, then yes, you would need another scanner. Not sure if your scanner is even designed to monitor EDACS trunked systems properly. Seems it only does Motorola trunked systems.

Is Tampa PD only on the West system? I am in Lakeland and monitor the East system, but don't think I have heard anything from the TPD talk groups. I don't have the West system freqs programmed because I can't receive them very well. I thought both systems would simulcast the same traffic (and maybe they do and I am just confused!) Also, I am hearing what sounds link law enforcement on some groups marked fire/rescue.. Don't have the specifics in front of me right now... but the thread made me think about it.

Don't beat yourself up - no biggie. Did you get everything working properly? If the PRO-94 is like a lot of other scanners, you need to set up your bank (that you have the SO or TPD in) for EDACS.

Just make sure your freqs match the ones in the database here: Hillsborough County Trunking System, Hillsborough County, Florida - Scanner Frequencies

HCSO FINALLY (after four months) posted the new District boundaries on their website. The map is found here: Address, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office on the bottom of the page.

I know they are on the east system, I thought someone had submitted them to the database.
