It's in my hometown, so you can bet on it. I've missed it ONCE in 25 years. And that was the one that was cancelled due to a hurricane.

I'll be easy to spot...probably the only non-overweight guy there who has both an XTS5000 and a M/A-Com P7100.

Well, I will be there, with a few others from here in the Jacksonville Area.
I also will be carrying an XTS5000, but hey.. I am overweight!! haha
What frequency will you be on? We usually hang on 444.200.. sometimes in Astro..
since thats what frequency my repeater is on in Jacksonville, so most of the time
we just use that simplex.

Probably going to hook up with some of the guys at Frankies Wings for wings and beer
in Melbourne Friday evening... if anyone wants to join??

UHF? That'll require me to carry a THIRD radio. So I guess I'll have to drag out the UHF Astro Saber III,
in addition to the VHF 5K and the 800 7100IP.

But no more than that! Three radios is my limit unless I'm trying to sell some!

Elroy, I have VHF astro as well, but I mainly use UHF, because I have 3 UHF XTS's
that I lend out to the guys that go with me, and the guys that have their own
only have UHF XTS5000's... But if you can, monitor 444.200 with a PL of 127.3
and a NAC of A55, IF we use astro. What freq will you be monitoring on VHF?
I'll put that in my 5000 as well.

154.600 with a NAC of ABC.

I have correct Brevard rebanded data and can provide a basic file with the appropriate trunked frequency sets for your usage and adaptation.
Simply use this file's trunked frequency sets in your own file by setting them to global and then re-picking them in your own file.

**As you know many of us are not "fit" and pretty like you, but there are other distinctive characteristics of your persona that can be described. Let me ask you something, when was the last time your changed your frame eyeglasses, 1964?

I also have a "two-radio" limit, an XTS5K and a MACOM P7250 and I AM VERY PROUD OF BEING OVERWEIGHT!.

By the way, my radios do have all screws and all are exceeding factory specs.

October 3rd there will be a Miami Radio Show, I will attend this one first and the following weekend I'll see you all at Melbourne.

Nobody's ever called me "pretty". This face doesn't scare the fish but I wouldn't get far as a model. Probably starve to death, actually.

Glasses frames? Who cares? I'm not into style. My frames are large because I like a full field of vision and smaller frames bug the hell out of me. I'm not a candidate for corrective eye surgery.

I don't know what's with that "my radios have all their screws" comment...bizarre. Anything I use, is complete and fully tuned.

I'll be tailgating in the company van and have some test equipment set up and running for the convenience of anyone who wishes to use my equipment to check out a radio. This is a courtesy but it will be denied to those who are not courteous to me.

I'll be selling off a fair amount of stuff really cheap. A lot of it is from the shop and the mandate is to
not bring any of it back if at all possible. (Except the test equipment...not for sale.)

I'll be looking for an affordable, used, and decent HF radio. And if I can get one cheap enough, another base model XTS5000. No features, low cost, and I can use any band.

Elroy, you lied, you had more than three radios. Let's not go with the radios with missing screws, this has been mentioned in these forums a few times.

So far the show has been better than I expected. Always nice to see similar faces. This is one of my favorite Florida shows.

Did you guys see the guy with the new Motorola APX's? Very nice radio!

The show wasn't bad, but it has been better in past years.

It was really a one day hamfest with a full day to tear down and pack up. It was very non-jam-packed on Sunday.

I made several hundred bucks tailgating and got rid of a pile of stuff I didn't need anymore. Almost got rid of it all. NOBODY would think they paid too much for the stuff they got from me! I was just happy to see it go.

Good, I need to clean out. I'm trying to avoid becoming a home for unwanted junk.

I took amateur license exams on Sunday. Successfully. I upgraded from Technician to Extra.

I normally carried ONE radio but for one trip inside I carried five just to demo P25 CAI interoperability
between four different radios in three different brands. Once that was done I put the other four back in the vehicle. One 5K is enough most of the time.

The APXs are VERY nice. A bit smaller than I though they would be. Great audio, solid feel, not
very heavy, good ergonomics, great display...looks like a very well thought out radio. But I'll wait for the B version which includes UHF.

The only thing I actually bought was an iphone. Used but good. So much better than the 5 year old
Samsung that's on its last legs that I've been suffering with for a long time now.

Now that I'm an Extra class operator, with full HF privileges, I need to start thinking about an HF rig.
That'll be a different kind of adventure for me.
