St. Johns County looks at huge budget cuts - Action News Jacksonville

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla.--If property taxes don't go up county leaders say your services will go down.
From cutting back on road work, drainage projects, after school programs, and closing a library.
And Karen Pan, from St. Johns County says it would even cut into public safety.

"It would close at least one fire station and pull some fire trucks and ambulances off the roads. And lay-off 150 county employees." (Source actionnewsjax.com)

Stop running fire apparatus to every minor traffic crash, 400k and up apparatus to maybe treat a weak and dizzy and you might save enough money and might not need all the people.

I guess there's a reason, but it always blows my mind when I hear an engine and a rescue dispatched to an "ill person." Call me stupid, but wouldn't just an ambulance suffice for most medical calls?

People ask me why they send a engine with a rescue. I know some people say it is dumb and wasting tax payers money. I hear a city engine respone with rescue for med calls all the time.
