I am no longer able to monitor St. Lucie County. Although the control channel (853.3000) is weak in my location, if I "Hold" my BDC396T on the control channel, it displays the SID and changing IDs. However, when scanning, it does not stop on an active channel and I hear nothing. I have manually set it on a known active channel and it still hears nothing. I have the St. Lucie system set up as a Motorola Type 2 800 MHz Custom since it was rebanded. I tried Motorola Type 2 800 MHz Standard but then I cannot even hear the control channel. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I live in Stuart (Port Salerno) but I work in Jensen Beach. In the parking lot at work I receive a very good signal but the BCD396T still does not stop on an active channel even though the display shows the active channel IDs. Since it is obviously hearing and understanding the control channel, I am stumped as to why I cannot copy any active channel.

I fixed the problem but I am still not sure what was wrong. I simply re-created the system. I double checked all the frequencies and they were all correct so I do not know why I was not receiving any audio. The only difference is the order in which the frequencies are entered as this time I simply cut and pasted them from the Radio Reference database.
