Question Brevard County Titusville Site Down?

I happened to be working on the north side of county this afternoon and noticed in absence of traffic on the Titusville site. While driving back home, I was monitoring the PB/Rockledge system and notice dispatch traffic on ALERT-2. I did notice in my eTrunker, Radio LID's from north bcso & titusville units on alert2. Any ideas?

BTW, is Titusville site 001 or 003? Thanks!

Ok, so im in Titusville again and im not hearing any activtity on the north site. ALERT-2 is quite. On thing I noticed is that there are 2 control channels active, channel 12 and channel 22. Channel 12 shows no activity in terms of talkgroups showing up on the "Activity" display, I see plenty of activity on 22. I tried locking out Ch 12 and that didnt work. What gives?

I noticed last night that Alert 2 was dispatching calls, mostly Tac Units were on Alert 2. Brevard North was dispatching as usual. I was monitoring the Rockledge tower and noticed they were simulcasting Melbourne PD..which I thought was odd.

So around midday the Titusville site came back to life. Everything seems normal for the exception of two control channels running on this system, they are still operating on Ch 12&22. Could it be that the site had some kind of failure and one of the control channels was being operated in Single-Channel Autonomous Trunking mode?

I emailed CII (Communications International, Inc) on Saturday about the issue and, hopefully, they will check into the problem. If they are running another system at that site, at the same time as the main system, on the same frequency as one on the main system, wouldn't it be causing all the Titusville site users to have radio trouble, putting SO deputies and PD officers in danger? I know I had to delete the channel out of my scanners to get them to trunk-track properly. So, I have an empty channel in the channel 12 space at this time. When it was on channel 11, I deleted that one and when it went to channel 12, I reprogrammed in channel 11. It is almost like the site controller is failing. Or, like you said, Channel 12 is operating in SCAT mode while the rest of the system is operating in multi-channel mode. And, it is odd that this CC on channel 12 says it is on site 12 channel 02. As far as I know, there is no site 12 in Brevard County.

kf4sek, glad I was not the only one experiencing this. I finished my work at the north end, but I may pass by sometime this week to install a remote etrunk monitoring system at one of my Titusville sites. See what kind of information I get from that control channel on 12. I'm pretty sure it may be some kind of auxilary or backup site that is online at the moment. I know most of the radios out there have access to the TRAILER site and some others that I'm not ware of.

The "Lone CC" is now on channel 11 (851.2125). So, anyone monitoring this thread needs to unlock/reprogram channel 12 (851.8250) and lockout/delete channel 11 (851.2125) in order to not have trunk-tracking problems. The true site CC is still active on channel 22 (853.5125) and that is the CC your scanners should be locked on to follow comms properly.

The "Lone CC" just went back to channel 12 (851.8250 MHz). This thing is a pain in the rear and must serve some purpose. There is still no activity as far as TGs on it, though.
