You can also buy the frequencies at the race. I think you may be able to get your scanner programmed by some of the vendors, but not sure. I'm just passing on things I have read. Here is one site. NASCANNER 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Frequencies, Schedule, and Driver Guide

Here are the frequencies used by the Speedway. I hear these all the time.

464.50000 KD43377 RM 423 DPL NASCAR 1 Operations (Nascar/Fire/EMS/ISC) FM Business
464.52500 KNNN893 RM NASCAR 2 Operations (Nascar/Fire/EMS/ISC) FM Business

Analog will not be a problem. He can also search 450-470 MHZ to get anything missed. With the races there are a lot of businesses here using there own communications system. I pick up a lot when I search the 450-470 range.

If he has an interest in listening to the county he may be out of luck since it is trunked. But for the races he will be fine.

He still might want to buy a frequency list at the race in the event the one I provided is not accurate. As mentioned before searching 450-470 should find all the drivers.

Don't forget to look in the low 450 area. The TV director talking to the camera men telling them to zoom in on this accident etc. When I used to go to Daytona, I found this more interesting than the drivers. GARY N4KVE

I am not sure of the trunked system that is used for the County but you may still be able to monitor with a older Scanner as long as it is not Digital or if it hasnt been rebanded .ive been useing my Pro2006 for years to monitor Trunked system's
Does anyone have a live feed of the Race Drivers I hope someone would be close enough to the track to set up a feed ?

If I am not mistaken aren't the NASCAR officials using MOTOTRBO for communications or are some NASCAR tracks still using analog?

I have these programmed in my old Pro 62. I hear Nascar 11 (464.775) all the time. To be honest I have a total of 4 scanners going all the time, sometimes 5, and so don't pay a lot of attention to these unless they are talking about something interesting.

I was out of town this past weekend so didn't get a chance to listen to see what I could hear.

If you're following LE on system b you might want to watch:
DBPD Event 2 (also called direct or motor)
Mutual Aid PD1
Varied patches (15-XXX), mostly traffic
15-143
VC Wide 3

On Daytona trunked:
15-150
15-151

I've also seen activity on MA-FLA 854.6375 210.7

Are the patches on daytona patched with the other systems? I haven't had the timing work out right with a transmission to verify that yet.

Nascar Officials traditionally rebroadcast the Tower Ch1 and Scoring and Timing in analog for the fans. They move their system from track to track.
