Default Sarasota County

I have Charlotte County and Sarasota County in my BC796D rebanded scanner. Charlotte County works perfect and Sarasota County is static when there is a hit. Is Sarasota County encripted and is there a procedure to clear the static? Dudeboy6

Default mine is fine

i live in charlotte county and just tried north port it came in fine
sarasota is digital and has limited use of encryption
they also have fd and ems doing both
are you close enough for good reception?
i also have them in a separate folder (venice, north port, high hat, englewood, sarasota, osprey) and i change to whichever is closer
try the single approach and see what happens

Default Sarasota County problems

I live in Englewood and get good reception in Charlotte County including Punta Gorda PD. Sarasota County is one of four locations in the US that is using Motorola Astro IMBE system and I can not get anything but static when there is a hit. On weebsite suggested that special programming or software may be needed. I am using BC796D rebanded with ARC250 pro software. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Default ok

i am not familiar with your radio sorry
first a correction to fire and ems in sarasota they use both digital and analog
the reason you hear punta gorda is charlotte county is broadcast across the county so..
if you are out at the airport you can hear someone on a handheld at englewood beach
every tower broadcasts at the same time (they have to be set very precisely to do this)
sarasota is P25 i hope your radio is set up for it

Where did you get the information that Sarasota Co. is one of only 4 locations using IMBE?
If Sarasota was using a version of digital that was not compatible with your scanner you would not hear anything. Vselp was the original digital.

Default Motorola Astro imbe

Go To APCO Project 25 - The RadioReference Wiki There are five listed and it appears to me to be somewhat rare, dudeboy6

That Wiki information is submitted by members and IS NOT an up-to-date list of agencies using these systems.

And it states...

"Some agencies using Motorola ASTRO IMBE systems include the City of Baltimore, the State of South Dakota, the State of Ohio, the Metro Washington Airports Authority, Fairfax County VA, and Sarasota County FL."

Everything can be monitored with a Digital Scanner except about four encrypted talk groups.

I am visiting Sarasota County and progrrammed the following system I got from the database:
Sarasota County Public Safety Trunking System, Sarasota County, Florida - Scanner Frequencies

According to the database it was updated on 12/6/12. Is this accurate?? This thread is very confusing and would like things to be straighted out

The RR database is accurate for Sarasota County Public Safety Trunking System. With it programmed into your digital capable scanner, you will be able to monitor all agencies and talkgroups listed. There is very little (if any) encryption.

I was in Sarasota this past weekend (Feb 15-17) and heard everything just fine. I stayed over by the airport and I have a Pro 106. I also listened to the Manatee County system as it is listed here in the database.

Here is the rebanding table I copied from my programming I used this past weekend.

Lo channel hi channel Offset Base Step
440 559 440 851.0250 25.0
0 719 0 851.0125 25.0
720 759 0 848.0000 25.0
815 831 0 846.6250 25.0
958 958 958 868.9750 25.0
961 1022 0 843.4000 25.0

I tried to space it out but it won't let me.
