Fix your grammar and then re-post your questions.

A lot of scanners have a difficult time receiving the Miami-Dade P25 trunked system due to LSM. The reason why you hear Fire-Rescue is because they are not on the trunked system and use UHF analog conventional frequencies. Without posting up some screenshots of how itís programmed, it hard to diagnose. I will say that you should only have one site programmed in. If you look at the notes in the database, it will tell you what site the PD uses. So try deleting the other sites and post back up.

Default Monitoring MDPD P25

Has anyone had luck using a Unication to monitor MDPD? I was using a 436 which worked ok on a coffee table, but I've moved and can't capture the system anyone in my new home in the Hammocks.

Anyone know if a EF JOHNSON ASCEND 51SL ES 5100 7/800 MHz Digital P25 will work, and if it can be programmed on the system via the FPP?

I no longer live in Miami-Dade County.

Used to own a Unication. They work very well with a few caveats.

You'll need to realize that, it is a pager, not a scanner, so that when you hear something interesting, you won't be able to hold onto the talk group. You will need to become familiarized with how the radio is programmed and THEN plan very carefully how you will program the talk groups.

For example, if you program all of the dispatch channels in one zone, all you will hear is a blitz of calls with no way to hold onto a particular talk group. I believe there's a work around but it involves turning a knob and by the time the radio reacts, you could miss a reply.

I wish I could give you more examples but I haven't owned one for a while and I already forgot how I used to program mine. Perhaps others here can give you ideas.

As good as they are, every now and then, there would be garbled stuff. It even happens to the very own PD radios.

It may work for you or you will find yourself soon wishing the Unication did scanner stuff.

Stuff like, talk group holding, talk group lockout or front panel programming.

I also owned the Uniden BCD 436/536 and a Whistler TRX1, the Uniden gave me the best results, especially when used with a base antenna I could get very consistent P25 decoding.

Or you can wait until the first quarter of 2019 when Whistler releases their new line of LSM scanners.

I have both a Unication G5 and a subscriber on the Miami-Dade P25 system. The Unication is literally on par with the subscriber as far as reception distance and quality. My scanners suffered from LSM hell on that Harris system. If you are looking for a great ďscannerĒ for that system I highly recommend Unication.
