Hmm, after looking at my copy of WinRAR, I see that is indeed possible, but since I have WinZip it naturally is used for zipping files. I am not sure I have ever actively used WinRAR on purpose. In other words, I only used it to un-RAR things, if you get my meaning. :?

Sorry for leaping before checking there Joseph. ops:

OK, here are four for the Pro96.
Wyoming_MI has a bunch of phone freqs in it, though - I loaded them before I knew they were not legal (just ignore them).

With any luck, I'll actually do this correctly!

I DL ed the 1st one, and it showed up. I can't say anymore, as I don't have a 96.

It might not be a bad idea to post in your state forum. I have a sticky in the NC forum for files. I have to edit and add several more soon.

Have fun.

Right-click, send to compressed (zipped) folder.

Hit browse, add the zipped attachment, and there you go.

Hello, I don't know if this thread is active but I would like to inject an idea. I bought the scancat software to work with my scanner. I have been programming it today and was in the RR database cutting and pasting till my eyes went to a blur (and still no finished). I think it would be neat if the site had a little script or something that you could choose the counties you were interested in, then you could tell this script to take the selected counties and do a quick make of the file for your program like scancat and you would be able to save this custom made file just for you right on your computer and use it. This could be another perk to becoming a member. This would save alot of cut and paste time. You might even include the ability to remove the local channels you might not be interested in.

Just an idea.

Most of the quality software products out there have the ability to import the Trunking systems from the RR database using the Web Service feature available to contributing members. The conventional data will be available in a similar fashion in the future and I assume those same softtware vendors will upgrade the software to accomodate it. Computer Aided Techonologies has not shown any interest in adding that functionality to any of CAT software.

I feel that is a shame. I am trying to learn Visual Basic I might just have to make a stand alone program that will do this. If I did something like this could it be put in the files section for the users to use? Of course being new to VB alot of blood sweat and tears would go into it I am sure.

Putting it in the files section would be up to you and Lindsay, but if it is a good something, I am sure he would do it. You didn't mention what scanner you are using and hence what the target of your program would be, but I will tell you that Don Starr's software for the Pro96/2096 and later has this funciton (I am pretty sure about the later part), Butel handles most of the older Uniden models, and Uniden has a quick knock-out that works on Motorola sytems only for the BC246 or BCD396.

So, what is your target?
