Question Radios for sale section

So, I like to look at the radios for sale section and noticed something that would make a great improvement. I think that section should be broken down into sub-sections. Like Scanners, HAM's, etc. Some people just like to look at scanners, while others have to browse through pages and pages of ads that might not be relevant to what they are looking for. I know some people might say "Use the search feature" but if you are not looking for a specific type of scanner, radio, etc. then this does not seem feasible. Just something to think about, let me hear some feedback.

Also, the For Sale section has gotten pretty big in the last few months.

I'll give it some thought.

I think alot of people hate to read FA posts. Make sure these are post correctly or make their own list. Because I for one hate to open a FS ad only to find out the item is on ebay. I don't buy from ebay and I think alot of member are the same. It's okay to post them on here because some do but please list them correctly

Hi KB9LIQ,

Thanks for your input. I generally leave the ad with FS on a Ebay link if there is a buy it now price. If it is a auction and it is listed FS, I edit the posting title to match what is listed.

The moderators are watching the Classifieds very closely to make sure members are posting a price for the forum to run smoother.

I hopes this helps

Unfortunately we can't force people to follow the Classified forum rules without it being a PITA for others (through a pop-up or something). People are going to read what they want to. We can warn them but then another person comes along new to the procedure and it restarts.

And all items related to ebay should be FA. Only when the item is available for a transaction on RR is it OK for it to break the norm. In those cases it should list FA/FS.

I would oppose further fragmentation of forum categories. Breaking the Tavern up has caused me to stop reading any of it because it is too tedious to check all of those categories - probably not a bad thing in the grand scheme. :-)

I think breaking up for sale items into fine categories will reduce the potential audience for some items and will probably also cause more trouble with "violations" of the categories.

I do agree, especially on the first point.

Perhaps after the F/S ,F/A or F/T designation could be a : Scanner or Amateur tab that could be selected. You would then ignore what does not interest you.

A clearly, carefully worded post title may help as well.

When you are in the market for something,(if you are like me you are motivated to check the classifieds "multi" times) you get familiar with what is on "page 1" very quickly.
If it's on page two or later, it's generally sold.

Half the fun is hunting for a bargain I say no to compartmentizing in sub forums.
