Default Forums Outage Last Night

Folks,

Sorry about the forums outage last night - looks like we had a database problem that cropped up right when I went to bed.

We're back up - all is good now.

Man, I sure got some nasty emails from some of you... take it easy when we have a problem and rest assured we'll be on top of any issues. I realize the forums are like crack cocaine, but if we go down for a few hours, go make love to your wife or something and be patient while we work on the problem.

Thanks folks!

Warm regards,

No nasty e-mails from here. I thought my system was on the verge of collapse. Had just installed updates for win96 and win97. "Oh what a relief it is."

It took me a while to realize what was happening. I was just about ready to reply to a post when things when awry. I thought it was strange that I could bring up the Wiki and the Database, but not the Forums. What a relief to know it wasn't MY problem, ...for a change.

LB: I run 12 Groups (down from 21) and Focal Points are where the Arrows fall like rain when the choo-choo derails..

BUT being that noticed also indicates what you've been doing is important to many!

There's an old train Engineer's lament:

I'm not allowed to run the train - The whistle I can't blow.
I'm not the one who designates - How far the train will go.
I'm not allowed to blow the steam - Or even ring the bell.
But let the darn thing jump the track - And see who catches hell.

Smile RR Forums outage

I recognized it was a problem on RR's end and took the time to browse other parts of the site/service that were working. I don't need to listen to the live streaming, but it was interesting to look at how things have been set up. The DB and Wiki were also working just fine.

For those that don't have wives or GFs (or women with SOs) don't you people have SCANNERS that you can listen to? LOL.

Cool Forum outage

I posted my first message a day or two ago so it hasn't been released, being a newbie to this. Bascially it said " I just got my GRE PSR 600 scanner on 7/28, with the Butel software. Then I updated my subscription to "RR" to premium. On 7/31 I got the e-mail about the legacy link going down, but that was after I went home from work, so I didn't see that. On 8/01 I tried to down load frq's and then as the rest of the users found out, the new fix from Butel doesn't work. Then last night the forums went down......."Oh the humanity"...........
My initiation to the 800 MHZ scanning so far has been a bit discouraging. I will keep the faith. As I work with computers and electronics for my livelyhood, nothing suprises me anymore.
