Hi Peter,
The average threads that were placed on our old for-sale forum was about 4 to 5 ads a day thats not including reply posts. Some days more and some less.
With the new board in place I noticed a jump in the numbers. It seemed like the old board had lots of activity because there was one board that took care of all radio related items plus all replies to threads, which now has the items seperated.
I like the new forum, I couldn't stand seeing motorola stuff mixed up with scanners and related items
As Lindsay said it will take some time to get used too, I know I am trying.

With the history of the Classified, I think that a majority of the members would agree that something that works more efficiently was needed. Most of the transactions go thru with out a hitch, but the few bad apples tend to sour the batch. The price for a Premium membership is well worth the $$ that you pay out. There are other options and many have been listed here in this thread. Like the 90 day Prem. for 7.50 is still a great value, look at classifieds in your local paper they are alot more than that and for a day or two.
Another thought comes to mind for those that cant afford it in these hard times is that you also have the option to become a Live Feed Provider which Prem. membership is a benefit. Since its conception it has been a valuable resource, and as time has went by it has had to change due to the few that come in and take advantage of the adds, and try and scam their way around. The idea's in this thread are great and Im sure are considered, but something had to be done to protect the membership. Not to be sarcastic but there is always Craigslist. Far better to have a structured classified section than none at all.......

It looks good
I like the new Classified section!!!! It is definitely cleaner looking too. The only thing I don't like is that new ads don't come up as new posts (which I know taxes the search function here). Perhaps there could be a new ads function within the ads section?

Ah, yes... you're right. That's probably EXACTLY what's fueling my perception of less activity.
I'm probably just reacting to things having changed. I used to ENJOY slogging through all those ads for 396ts or whatever, to see if I could unearth a minty XTS5K for sale :-)
One more suggestion: It'd be nice to have something a bit more attractive -- even a blank panel -- than the existing "nothumb.gif" (the gif that's displayed if there's no picture provided).

That is a good idea. Let me see if I can drum up a picture of Allysa Millano in a bikini or something... that would really esclate participating in the classifieds

Sorry it sucks.
This was an excellent resource to buy, sell & trade when it was the other way. While it was alittle more cluttered the old way, it was a great place to do all that and now we have to be a premium member to post FS ads now.
Sorry, I'll post my items for sale somewhere else.

I'm sorry but because of being on work comp my weekly income is now what I make in a month so money is way too tight. But the new forum here forced me to list on other boards and on here it seemed like the number of tire kickers had gone up but other boards I've sold items for asking prices so its been good for me.

While I appreciate the security behind only allowing premium subscribers to post in classifieds, perhaps this is not the best time to enact this? I have been a member since 2002 and have excellent sales history on this forum. Sadly, I am unemployed and have to live with parents currently. Not looking for a violin here, but the extra cash is not going towards any scanners, software, or subscriptions right now. Maybe a grandfathering for members above a certain post count, or who have been members for 5+ years to post items for sale? Just a thought.

I made some cookie setting updates which should provide single sign on now between the forums and the classifieds (provided you sign into one or the other) - have fun!

Just posted a reply to an add in the Classifieds section and noticed my signature line is all juggled up.
Nothing is lined up or oriented like it is in the Forums.

Admins
I noticed that something I bought from another member last week was marked SOLD and it was deleted days after.
I still haven't receive my item and I hope I receive the I tem I paid for, but right now I don't have any proof for paypal that I bought a in good conditions item, if I end up receiving a damaged item or with missing parts.
It will be nice to keep the SOLD items for at least 30 days with pictures on it, sometimes when I buy something from canada it takes a while to get here and I want to match the items description to what I received.
I understand that leaving this old SOLD post for a month will create a bandwidth or space issue but it's worth it.
Right now I know I bought a scanner but I don't remenber if it comes with ac adapter, or software. and I can't find the AD anywhere to be sure.
Just my 2 cents

Feature request:
Would it be possible to add the seller's location along with the views, condition, price and date columns?
Thanks,
Steve

It appears to pick up the seller's location from their profile. Here is a snip of a screen shot from my ad:

I'd like to see this also. Lots of good members here not using the classifieds anymore.

Yes, but I'd like to see it in the list, so I don't have to click into each ad.
