Add The Tavern to New Posts Searches, or at least ....
I can understand The Tavern not being included in post counts, but why not the New Posts searches? Yeah I know it's an off-topic area and not the focus of this board, but why should you have to click into each section to see newer items?
If nothing else, perhaps a New Posts search within The Tavern area?

Sorry, but we made the conscious decision to not do that and keep the new post searches focused on on-topic threads only.
I'm not aware of any new post search function that could be implemented specifically for the Tavern.
The Tavern is a walled of off-topic area that doesn't deserve any more "visibility" than it already gets.

You can use the Advanced Search within any forum and set timeframe parameters, but you still need a keyword or ID and it won't accept short, common words.
Seems like there oughta be a way.

Just delete everything after the "getdaily"(new posts) URL part. It will search the whole forum.
You can also bookmark that link.
http://forums.radioreference.com/search.php?do=getdaily
You could also make your own custom edit "Getdaily" URL link and only exclude the forum areas you don't want listed in your Getdaily(new posts) search.

&
Use the "Quotation Marks" around your short words/numbers. "gun" , "293" , "167" , "482",etc in the search box.
It should work fine for you

That would probably work and I could set a bookmark for it, but where are you finding the list of forum ID numbers? When I hover over them on the main board, I see the forum names, but not their ID numbers.

That looks like it'll work. I was able to block out a bunch of sections I don't read while including sections I want.
That should work on any VBBoard, right?

Well, it only sorta works.
If you enter it in the address bar and hit enter, it works the first time, but it won't update on a reload/refresh.
Probably will have to do a bookmark and click that for a refresh when desired.
Edit>> Yeah, it looks like the bookmark is going to work. Just something to get used to.
Now, if I could only find a way to blot out those annoying 'Posted from my doo-dad iWhartever' taglines.

+1 on that.
Not to mention how screwed up the email notices you get (subscribed threads) from those.

It's a selectable option in the Tapatalk application. You could tell users to turn it off, but that would probably be nigh-unenforceable.
For what it's worth, I turned it off on my posts - I don't need companies advertising their product on my posts.

That is a fault of either vBulletin or the mobile platform RR uses/created, and I don't think it's Tapatalk related. Posts from mobile users generate a "new reply notification" designed for reading on the mobile site/on mobile devices. That's somewhat backwards logic on the part of whoever created the mobile site's forum interface. It should be the mobile user that gets the mobile notification, not everyone else when a mobile user posts.

Since I don't use Tapatalk, how can I turn off my "advertisement" if it can be turned off? I mean, I wouldn't want to annoy anyone with something I wasn't aware was even happening.

I just started using tapatalk today and the first thing I did was remove the signature. When I was at the signature screen, the app had a notice saying that it may be automatically be removed by the sites settings. Maybe there is a way you guys could set a setting up like that to remove those? I mean that is of course if it is something you would want..

I see no option to turn it off in our Control Panel. Judging by the poor grammar of the interface it doesn't surprise me there's that discrepancy.

VBB is such a collection of mods and hacks, it may be something that is available, but not included in this version or installation. Every one of the dozen or more VBB forums I visit is different, and I don't just mean the visual customizations or options available to users.
Personally, I think it should be treated as the advertising that it is and Mods should be handing out cautions to those that don't turn it off.

I don't disagree with you. But, to be fair, you can't turn it off on most interfaces and we already have a reputation for being heavy handed. Can you imagine what sort of ogres we would be if that was the policy?

It's like anything else. You start out with information and announcements. Maybe a few left handed digs in posts punctuated with Smileys. Point people to this thread. Maybe even break part of this thread out to a new topic thread and try to spur the conversation.
I'm not saying this is something that should earn Warnings or Bans.
And you'll be helping every board on the web that these same people visit since once turned off by the user, it's off for everywhere (as far as I know). I don't use those types of whatchamajiggers because I don't need my phone being smarter than me.

I've not seen an answer to my question, nor have I seen anything in what little documentation came with my 3G multi-media phone (not a smartphone) on how to turn it off, if it even can be. If it can't, you'll have to deal with it. I don't see it, myself.

Due to the mobile interface not being the most bug-free of interfaces we need to leave the notification on (on our side) for now. Sorry guys.
Tapatalk is the one that allows the user to turn off those messages, which don't apply to the "Wirelessly posted..." alerts.
