I stand by my statement, and welcome a response to my question...and I don't need to be directed to a post that I quoted. I obviously read it.

Thanks.

Gentlemen, a reminder that this is the Forums Administration forum. It is not the place to be discussing the merits of Whistler/GRE/RadioShack vs Uniden. I've deleted two such posts from this discussion.

Thanks.

Sure enough, did not even notice this was the forums admin forum and not the actual GRE forum.
Sorry about that!

Just purchased the WS-1080 to compare with my 436HP. I would say that is there is going to be Whistler forum, it should be merged or linked to GRE forum. Why? Because many of us who have been around for years know that the new Whistler scanners are essentially the old GRE/RS scanners. In my case, when I have a question about the WS-1080, I, and probably all of you, know to go the GRE forum and check out comments about the PSR-800.
However, for a newbie scanner who decides to buy a Whistler, they may not realize the close link to GRE/RS scanners. If they just go to a forum for Whistler, they probably won't find out too much, at least at the moment.
I vote for Whistler/GRE (or GRE/Whistler) forum.

I vote to open a New Whistler Forum and move Radio Shack and GRE to all others category because they are not an active retail brand anymore.

Whistler Scanner Forum

I'm sorry but I'm not asking for votes or any further discussion as my decision still stands.
