Been silent for many months, but the ever increasing
over-moderation of the RR forums has prompted this comment.
Something had definitely changed in a big big way and not for the better.
It seems that many times, moderators, and particularly one relatively new,
seem to "butt in" constantly to perfectly rousing, enjoyable threads,
in which all of the participants are completely civil.
The participants should direct the thread except in case of
major rules violations IMHO.
Please, please moderate conservatively.
We love 'ya, but we don't want to hear from you constantly.
I think we're a pretty good group here
with very occasional exceptions.
The other thing is the ridiculous moving around of threads.
In the 13 years I've been here, I've never had so many
links lead nowhere and not been able to find threads
that were there.
News and announcements area is beyond confusing quite often.
As an example, an FCC national news story out of Washington, DC
(where else) was moved to the local District of Columbia
forum. A news release from from a manufacturer was placed
in the local forum for the state that the manufacturer was in.
Please, no more "musical threads".
Again, please, please moderate conservatively.
Please return to sanity in moderation.
Note: I'm not soliciting for any comments on this thread.
This is FYI for the mgmt team really.
Food for thought for them.
Thank you for listening.
