Default Best beginner scanner for home

Im looking for a scanner to broadcast my local FD, PD and EMS channels to my home computer for RR.com. I currently have a Uniden BC350A and the audio has become very faint and hard to hear on it. So Im wanting to know what the best/easiest base scanner is for a beginner. My only use is like mentioned above, to broadcast the local emergency channels on RR. So basically it sits hidden behind my computer and never gets messed with. Thanks in advance for your help!

EDIT: I failed to see you already have a feed and the area is all Analog. My apologies!

Hello and welcome. The type of scanner will depend on the specific area you are broadcasting from and whether or not those departments are analog or digtial in nature. If you can provide more specifics, that would help other members here offer advice.

Thanks

Have you looked at the Uniden Bearcat BC355N?

I have a BCT15x in my mobile, paired with a unity-gain Maxrad Maxscan 1000. Not the best antenna in the world but it works. I can hook this same scanner to a RS mag-mount placed on my window AC and I pick up 40+ miles with ease. If you're interested in purchasing the BCT15X shoot me a PM. Nice guy and all, I would even be willing to program it for your area.
