Exclamation Do I Need A Better Radio?

Hey guys, I have a Radio Shack Pro-29 that I paid $100 for plus Apple Tv. I Live in Lower Sackville Nova Scotia, Canada. I want to hear Lr Sackville Cops but from what I read they're only on talk groups and I don't think I can program talk groups into this radio. I really need a little guidance as I am new to the radio group and I am getting frustrated.
I can hear EMS & some Fire & Public Works but no Police...

If this radio does not work then what is the cheapest radio that I could buy to hear the police?

I'm guessing that you got a Pro-92, not a Pro-29. It is an analog trunktracking scanner. Nova Scotia uses a combination of analog and digital TGID's. NS fire is on analog TG's, police are digital. Probably the least expensive scanner would be the Pro-96/2096. It would receive the digital TG's. Better would be to get the RS Pro-106/197, or similar scanners.
