Default Desktop Scanner Mount

I was wondering if anybody else makes something similar to this desktop scanner mount. If not does anyone else sell this product? I want to buy one but shipping is to expensive through scanner master and also want to see if there is anything comparable to this on the market.

Thanks

A kid could make one at the high school metal shop in 5 minutes. I would check into sheet aluminum at Home depot or Lowes and find someone to bend it.

Seems to me, someone posted a picture in the forum of Pictures of Your Shack/Mobile Set-Up where they had made their own using just cardboard. Looked pretty good and it seemed sturdy. And if you don't want it to look like cardboard, you can always paint it.

I wouldnt put my scanner in a cardboard mount. LOL.

If you cant work metal and can work wood then go to lowes and get you some no 1 pine boards and a pint of stain and make your own. Just dont look at the price of the no 1 oak boards. Wow.

You don't even need to bend anything. Just get two right angle brackets and two straight pieces of aluminum, drill holes in the right places and bolt it together. Paint it if you want.

Yea there you go. Go to Wally World and get a couple of metal book ends holders and use those. Not much of a case but you should be able to mount at least 2 mobile scanners to them. That has been done here before so do a search on it.

I've got 3 of those and 2 of the 2 scanner versions that I've been using pretty much since the first came out. The reasons I am using them are... 1) The `triplet' versions, and also the `duplex' versions, allow me to have a nice easily moved pretty much any time may have to move my scanners. (EG1: When I am either cleaning the top of the desk/library table or am doing either a `shuffling' of scanner types.) (EG2: Needing to hook up either a new antenna, speaker, or other accessory) The other reason, which was my `initial' reason for getting them. (EG3: I wanted to be able to be able to tilt them up so that it would be easier to read the display of controls. Finally the last reason... (EG4: Later on as I was finally starting to realize that willy-nilly the desk/table space was rapidly disappearing I was able to turn all of the groups of scanners such that it made mounting the brackets and scanners very easily up under one of the shelves [Actually a bookshelf I'd originally set on the backside of desk/library table that, fortunately wasn't cluttered up like the top of my desk/Library table.])

Yeah... I probably could have gone and made a `custom' `bookshelf/hutch' and used either the screws for the mobile mounting bracket, a mobile mounting brack, or something I could have `cobbled up' out in my workshop. But, then I might have had to process of gathering up all the materials, build it, empty out and move someplace else along with getting all the needed holes for the `side' screws properly spaced and sized. Since I already had a decent `bookshelf/hutch' that I'd bought at a `garage sale' that already fitted my `D/LBT' it was definitely a whole heck of a lot cheaper and easier to just go ahead and `re-use' the existing mounting brackets.

(For those who might ask... My usual setup is 3 - PSR600s, 3 PRO2096s, 2 PSR410s, and 2 PRO2055s and the 2 PRO2006s and a few other `bits-n-pieces' I like to have available sit above the the ones in the brackets. I *do* expect that I will probably either shuffles things around on the existing `bookshelf/hutch' , find a bigger `bookshelf/hutch', or break down and finally build my own. {WAN GRIN!} Hopefully, for now at least, I still have enough room for any other radios I may purchase.

Quite frankly, I am very happy with these brackets. So far, I don't expect I'm going to be changing things around or purchasing more scanners.

No doubt it is a nice unit but I don't see the value.
My favorite board for building consoles or racks is 1/2" medium density overlay (MDO). Cuts, drills, etc like plywood but with smooth resin/paper finish. Paint it or laminate it. You might have to go to a real lumberyard but it is worth it if you can work with wood.
