A dump truck driver shot himself in the backside today. At an asphalt plant. I wonder if it was his fault? Or the asphalt?

Didnt catch the original reason for dispatch but heard from EMS onscene to supervisor:

"Doesn't want to go to hospital, adamant about not leaving. Aaaaand hes opened up another alcoholic beverage and started drinking it, while we are still here."

"Unit 12 and K9 3 are 10-41 in squad 201."

"Dispatch clear on your 10-41...which of you will be primary?"

I'm afraid I missed the reply...

Dispatcher: 411
411: 411
Dispatcher: Can you stop by the kitchen and pick up the package?
411: Copy

Ha, probably a Dunk'in Donuts run.
Which reminds me of a time back in the 1990's where I was traveling up Brooklyn Blvd in Brooklyn Park, MN and a police cruiser was approaching the intersection with its lights on... Going south it turned left (coming toward me on Brooklyn Blvd) then proceeded to turn left again right into the Dunk'in Donuts parking lot.

Might have been a robbery in progress and he was wanting to make sure he (the donut bandit) was caught before making off with all the donuts!!! Never can tell...............lol

As Mike Rowe said on the road paving episode of Dirty Jobs, "It's your *** and it's your fault".

I saw and than later heard on my BCT15x a couple guys passing through town talking Simplex (136.750) on an ICOM IC-A24 handheld. I saw one of them at the TA truck stop and later the other gave a sandwhich description and sure enough there he was at the Subway across the street. My spanish isn't too good so I couldn't understand all of what they were chatting about but got the gist of it.

Wonder what kind of range you get on those on the ground, it's 5 watts so I figure similar to 2m ham in terms of frequency but it uses narrower AM so I wonder if there's much difference since that's pretty narrowband.
