Default Sheriff and Public Works call

The Dispatcher sent out the Sheriff to control traffic while Public Works removed a large tree branch from in the middle of a busy local road.
The Sheriff cleared the call with " Suspected tree branch taken into custody, and released on its own recognizance with a warning......unit *** code*** ".

Dispatcher "I'll send Unit 1 for backup when he is free."
Unit 1 "Not me, I'm on a bicycle."
Call was all the way across town.

Heard earlier today in Catoosa County, Ga.
Fire and Sheriff's deputies dispatched to Mt Vernon Rd at Carson Rd for a Locomotive on fire. Several minutes later a responding unit asked where the Locomotive was located.
Dispatched replied "On the Railroad Tracks".

Call just heard on our local County Sheriff's frequency: "Route 143 near the golf course for a male subject wearing no pants."

Yes, but the Wrecker services charges, whereas in almost every area I have ever lived in the local FD does not. They get toned out to spread oil dry, sweep up, or hose down MVA debris all day long. Though here in INDY, they ONLY make sure the roadway is pretty much clear, and usually there are glass fragments, even bumpers and fenders etc on the curb, sidewalk, edge of roadways,... And its rain washed if the street sweeper trucks etc do not get to it first. The joys of living in a city that only partly gives a F! LOL.

Mesa AZ PD unit got to the scene of what was supposed to be a fight between a male and female.
The officer said he was '97 with the female', dispatch asked him if the other half was there.

He said 'I have the female in the blue shirt, a cat and a lizard and that's it'

Here that would be... "Driver was not 10-55. Citation issued for distracted driving, I will be back in service."

Virginia State Police dispatcher: "Richmond to (unit no.)"
Trooper: "Go ahead."
Dispatcher: "Have a report of an auto accident on I-64 east at mile marker xxx.x. Vehicle spun out and facing the wrong way in the median."
Trooper: "Was that called in by a passerby?"
Dispatcher: "10-4."
Trooper: "That's me. I'm running radar."
Dispatcher: "Are you facing the wrong way?"
Trooper: "10-4."
Dispatcher: "OK, I'll go ahead and clear it."

I assume it was an unmarked cruiser.

Slightly sad, but glad it wasn't real. Dispatch tones out for a code blue, full response, no additional details.

First unit gets there, cancels everyone "child called 911 for death of a family pet).

I guess Dispatch got "dead" out of the kid, which is a code response here until verified otherwise.
