Here's what I currently own:
Uniden BC560XLT mobile 16-channel (my current vehicle scanner).
Uniden Bearcat 1000XLT handheld (my current house scanner)
Radio Shack Pro-26 handheld (use once in a while).
Radio Shack Pro-83 Handheld (used 6 months).
Radio Shack Pro-2026 mobile (still in box).
Radio Shack Pro-2054 mobile/base (still in box).
Now I'm thinking of going digital. Am I normal or going Obsessive/Compulsive here? ;)

So, are you going overboard you ask. I don't know but I'd advise not going near the water with all that stuff, you'll sink like a stone.

Are you forced to go digital to keep listening to what you want to hear? You may not need a digital scanner right now. If you can, I would wait for the GRE digital scanners coming out in October.

Here's the plan: the ones in the box are backups for when one breaks. I was going to put one in every room in the house, but the wife put a stop to that. I also figured that she doesn't want one in her truck. So, I'm wanting to buy another vehicle just so I can mount another scanner (really, I need a backup car, mine is breaking down a lot).

Even a two year old can tell you - You can never have enough toys! The comment about amateur radio is also right on target. Many of us go to work solely to support our radio habit. Welcome to our world!

No Such thing as overboard :) At least untill you beat this guys collection ;)

I think he is running a repair shop that is just slow getting the work done!

I was just in an old family run TV shop that had about 90% of their store looking like that! It smelled real strong of a cat box too. I asked if the stuff was waiting to get picked up/worked on etc. He said "yep". I wanted to snoop... but I didn't. (I was there for a Gable mount.)
