Hello fellow scanners. When you go into the database under any state and you click on a county and then under FCC licenses you click on display all FCC licenses in _____County there is the section called Code. I know that MO means Mobile, FB means Fixed Base and that FB2 means Repeater. My question is what do FX0, FX1 and FX2 mean. Can someone please help me out with this. Also are there any other codes that you know of that I might find that you can tell me what they also mean. Thank you.

The FCC makes it suprisingly hard to find these codes, I discover, but they can be found in the instructions for filling out license applications for the desired services.

Here's the codes listed for Part 90 (Private Land Mobile) and Part 74 (Broadcast Relay)

Note: Where appropriate, follow each code with 'T' for Temporary, 'I' for Itinerant, 'S' for Standby, ‘A’ for Airport Terminal
Use, 'C' for Interconnect, 'J' for Temporary Interconnect, 'K' for Standby Interconnect, or 'L' for Itinerant Interconnect.
For example, FBT means Temporary Base. (NOTE: MO, MO3, MO6, MO7, MO8 & FXO use the alpha character “O”).

This is a great list, however in my limited knowledge I am wondering if anyone can locate the definitions for the explanations...for example: FB2L = Mobile Relay - Itinerant Interconnect, what does that mean though? What is the difference between FX=Fixed, FX2=Fixed Relay and FX1=Control, etc. The examples I presented are not specific questions that I have just examples of what information I would like. Surely that information is listed somewhere. Thanks in advance.

The actual definitions of 'what is a mobile relay' and such are found in the individual service rules. It may be different for different services, each has its own 'definitions' section.
