Can the AM band be used for anything other than traditional broadcast programs? A neighbor in real estate is showcasing a "Talking Home" decive at his own home. Tune to 1670 for info about the house for sale. Its low power. I can barely hear it and I'm only a couple hundred feet from the sign. Should I send a reception report and ask for a QSL card?!!

There may be some ancient cordless phones from the '80's in the 1700 to 1800 Khz range.

Got any elderly neighbours close by ? :p

Yes, there are legal Part-15 (unlicensed) uses in and near the AM Broadcast band.

YES!!! You must meet the applicable Part-15 requirements. (Unlicensed does not mean unregulated)

Hi Jim and all,

"A neighbor in real estate is showcasing a "Talking Home" deceive at his own home."

You got that right!

"Should I send a reception report and ask for a QSL card?!!"

You can't be serious.
