Can anyone suggest a site for info on Ham radios , someone here suggested Hamsexy.com a while back. Joined there yesterday, made one post today introducing myself and evidently now I have been banned for some reason. If anyone has any other decent sites for a noob to read and learn I would appreciate it. Thanks

All I did was introduce myself in the introductions area, someone posted later that there was a Tim from Texas there a while back that was a troll or such. Guess they think it is me, can't even contact admin or a mod to find out what the deal is. Not gonna lose much sleep over it, have learned alot from the folks here since I have been here. Pretty sure someone will link me to a good site, heck all I wanna do is learn LOL. Wanting to learn all I can, plan on getting my ticket here in the next few months.

If that was in my profile, I for one would like to know how it got there. I sure as heck didnt put it there , haven't had any issues at ANY other site I am a member of.

HamSexy is a great site! It pokes fun at the lighter side of amateur radio, and puts it into reality. Sure, there's some old crochety farts that don't like us (even on here) because hamradio is "serious business" - but it's a nice site to stop by and unwind/relax every now and then.


QRZ is....well, it's QRZ. I'll leave it there. But they both have their ups and downs.

Hamsexy is a wonderful site. Some of my best friends in the two way/ham radio/ scanner hobbys are guys I've met through the site. All of the hams I know that hate the site are the hams who take the hobby and everything else too seriously. Life really is too short, enjoy yourself before it's too late! And unlike other sites, you've really got to do something to get banned from Hamsexy. The moderator staff on HS is more than fair, they may not like you or may not agree with your point of view , but that won;t ban you unless you've really screwed up.

Their practice exams are outstanding. Just avoid the forums. Luckily, they are not representative of amateur radio operators either on the air in person.
