I have a pro-433 installed in my 2002 ford taurus. I have the radio mounted under the cigarette lighter tray. The scanner is hard wired to the fuse box inside the car. When I turn my fan or air conditioner on, there is a scratchy sound in the frequency coming in. I have checked the antenna connection and that seemed to help a little, but now the issue is back. Any suggestions? Also, would plugging the scanner into the cigarette lighter outlet help?

Sounds like you need a power line filter. Fans tend to induce noise on the 12 line. Google 12 vdc power line noise filter.
