Default Motorola Text Messaging Service (TMS)

Does anyone know if its possible to decode text-messages send over a Motorola system, and how I might go about do that. Is it even legal?

What type of Motorola system?

I believe TMS runs over P25.

I guess it would depend if the message was sent as clear text or encrypted.

If clear anyone with GOOD understanding of the standards and the skills to decode the frames should be able to decode the messages.

I think it's a Motorola add-on and not documented in the TIA/EIA Standards.

I suppose I can do some tests on the 2670 one of these and figure it out.
