Default 900 MHz headphones

This may have been covered and recovered. If so, I'm sorry. I picked up a pair of wireless 900 MHz headphones (Radio Shack) and have been using them to listen to my Pro106 while in my basement or out in the yard. They are advertised to work up to 150' away and they seem to be very close to that effective. Works great for mowing the yard. My wife thinks I have completely gone round the bend and my neighbors look at me funny... oh well.

Many people around here use headphone radios while they mow the lawn or go for a walk. So, nobody pays much attention anymore.

Good to hear you got the 900Mhz headphones workig.

I've used wireless headphones when I exercise and am watching TV. But I never had any luck with the 900Mhz versions. For some reason, the signal would never come in clear, even though I was sitting less than 10 feel away. I hated having to try to "tune in" the signal, which never worked. So, I've always stuck with the cheaper VHF-Lo wireless headphones, which always work great for me. Only problem is that the headphone pads get worn out quickly, so whenever I see a sales on these things I buy a bunch.

I plugged these in and they worked. They have been no problem at all. Battery life is remarkably good as well.

Try monitoring the 900MHz headphones on your scanner. It might make your head spin!

I use one of these, and you can also listen to your streaming online scanners as well if you run your computer audio out to it. Great with Teamspeak. Then you only need a small portable fm with normal earbuds.
