Default Free programming?

Is there any way to program a Radioshack scanner for free without having to buy the software? I'm not looking at pirating anything, just wondering if there are any free programs out there. My trials have run out for all of the other programs.

All depends on what scanner you have.

Yes, you can program it by hand.

They are some *free" programs & most others will have a 30 day FREE trial. you have the Premium member ship just find the program you like , get the programming cable & you're almost there . use the Import feature on the software to import directly from RR DB to the software & then you transfer to the scanner.

I know it's free by hand, but it's so easy and convenient to do it with programs.

I know the DB is paid for, but I can't get trunking working without the programs :P

With today's economy it's tough on everyone, but why not just select your favorite program (since you say you have tried them all) and pony up the $30 or $35? It's a one time charge and all updates are free, plus you have unlimited use to that program for as long as you have something to program with it. The money does not go to RR but to the developers that spent their time and energy to make something we can use to enjoy our toys with less hassle. Personally, I think that is only fair and well worth it.
