Default Importing pro95 files into bc296

I will be getting the BC296 scanner soon and have tried playing around with the software. I don't seem to be able to import win95 files into it. Is there a way to do this without typing them all in again? :?:

Thanks.

If you're talking about EScanner, I'd trash it and get ARC250 from BuTel.
I'm not sure that EScanner could do this (ARC250 can), but if you were to export your Win95 records as a csv file, then import them that way, at least some of your retyping wouldn't be necessary.

Some folks like EScanner, others have used it as a doorstop or coffee mug holder.

I have the latest version of Win 95 and I can't find where you are given the opetion to export as a csv file. I know you can do it with win 96 but then when you go to ARC 250 you don't get the option of importing csv file

I know another way of doing it. Open both your Win 95 program and ARC 250 program on the desktop and start to copy and past banks and talkgroup id's from Win 95 to the ARC program.

You are going to have to play around with copy> cut > Paste. to make it work for you , but it can be done this way. Also you can only work with 10 channels at a time.

Wish I could explain it more clearly , but it would take a lot of room to do so.

ARC250 has an advanced data import option (ADI button in toolbar) that will read and filter frequencies from a csv file / clipboard or website. Other users export from other software like winXX series to excel and than copy/paste into ARC250.

Default Importing TGs

Gommert,

Does ADI do well with TGs and there alpha tags, or is it just for frequencies?

No, it only works with frequencies.
We are developing a new tool TrunkWebCatcher that will read and import trunk data / tags from any website.

Joe,

Maybe the zip file will help you to do what you are looking for. For the id lists you would do pretty much the same.

Thanks, Randy. I had figured out a "cut and paste" fix, but I was just wondering if I had missed something with the ADI

Thanks,

Joe

Thanks for all you input. Since I still have most of the Excel files I know I will be able to cut and paste with those.
