Default Talk Group IDs

Is there a list for the Talk Group IDs that is either searchable by the ID number or listed in numerical order? I am listening to the STARNET that was already programed into my 396t and every time a talk group number comes up I have to go the the database and look through all the Talk Group IDs to find out who I am listening to.

Either hit CTRL-F and search for the talkgroup, or click the link to change it to numerical order.

I would suggest putting alpha tags on the talkgroups. This way, the alpha tag sows on the scanner screen instead of the talkgroup number and you wont have to look them up all the time.

In addition to the aforementioned you can click on the link at the top of the talk group area that says "List All in one table", which will list the entire TG list in numerical order.

I am alpha tagging some of the TG but since I live (and travel thru) near Houston there is a butt load of them . I did notice that some of the channels are comming up with alpha tags that I know I did not program, whats up with that?

You programmed them and forgot. Can't get an alpha tag on the display unless you entered it previously.

You mentioned you were using the system that came on the radio. The pre-programmed system had Alpha Tags for all of the pre-programmed TG's.

Better yet, since you probably spent $500 on a scanner, you should get the programming software so you can use the info off of the RR database. Then you will have more local channels and all of the info you need.
