Default Interesting things noticed...

Has anyone else noticedc that all the newer HH scanners are now based on the FRS/GMRS HT's produced these days????

Look at the BC246T, PRO-83, and then at almost every FRS/GMRS HT.....

Yeah you're right. About 99% of the FRS/GMRS radios out there look like they were designed by someone who's been smoking some serious stuff. The other sad thing about FRS radios of late is that each manufacturer tries to make a cheaper model than everyone else to get the price down so consumers will buy their radios. To do so they have had to make cheaper and cheaper quality radios to get the production costs down so they can make a cheaper priced radio. I have seen the quality go downhill since about a year after the inception of FRS. There just aren't any decent radios available anymore.
Getting back to the original point of your post, I'm with you. I hope that the various scanner manufacturers take the hint and start making scanners that look like professional radios again complete with a metal body and not cheap plastic. I have seen many posts on other boards about this very subject and all of the people who posted are in agreement that scanners should look like professional radios and not like new age plastic crap. Yes, we are willing to pay more for what we want.
