Default Civil Air Patrol Search

There is currently a search for a downed aircraft on the boarder of Towns County & White County. Now would be a good time to see if there are any CAP repeaters in the Northern GA area. I can hear some comms on the Pisgah Rptr in NC, but some southern operations are operating on another rptr. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Operations are up and running again this morning. Most comms on CAP CH. 4 - 149.5375 MHz 100.0 PL. They are using repeaters to talk to Asheville. I'd keep an ear out for 148.15 & 143.90 with a CTCSS search.

Try 148.1250 as well.

CAP is migrating to Narrow band frequencies, but Re-using the two old Rptr Pairs.

148.1250 will be come the Primary Rptr Channel
and 148.1500 will become the Secondary Rptr channel.

No more simplex on the Outputs.

Also the input Frequencies will change when the Rptrs migrate.

So, if you know [any old lists???] the Wideband Channel Plan and Repeater [sites/tones] you will know when they convert.

Also helpful is monitoring the NETS [some Wings run nightly anywhere from 1800-2100 local]

is this band change all across the country? I work in a 911 dispatch center in tn and we have the 148.150
simplex in our base radio and use it one time when we had a plane crash in our county it was the only
radio in the county that was able to talk to them

Search Turns Up Missing Aircraft, Pilot - 11Alive.com | WXIA | Atlanta, GA

Looks like that may be it. That pilots name sounds familiar to me.
