VHF P-25 in GA
Out of curiosity, what other VHF P-25 federal systems are there in GA? I put in the FLETC system and was listening mobile in the analyze mode on my 106. Was getting the signal at 1-2%. No audio. Granted, there was some tropo yesterday during the afternoon storms coming through.

Larry:
I haven't found any myself but there could be. Maybe your post will help discover it. Hope you're doing well.

This comes in strong in Augusta - with ducting you might pick it up at that distance.

MetroFire31, I'm doing good. What case are you using for your FT60R? Was it a recut case for the VX150?

I figured they would still be using what they had, just changed to P25. 163.2000 was USM.

Yaesu FT-60R Case
Larry - you guessed it correctly. I Googled and found a post somewhere that there wasn't a case for the FT-60 but that the Vertex VX-150 case would work fine if modified a bit. All you need to do is cut a bit off to better expose the FT-60 display and it works like a charm.

Yes, nearly every federal law enforcement agency in GA is using VHF P25 mobiles and portables in simplex mode. These are usually on surveillance or short distance operations like court house security.
The DEA still uses some analog UHF in simplex but its encrypted.
I have no idea what mode their repeaters are in, I know in Athens the USMS still has an analog VHF repeater in operation, I listened to it in use during the professor man hunt up there.

162.7875 CW ID. Must be a repeater. It runs dual mode.
