Default Fulton TRS

My Fulton freqs seem out of date, and there is a new 911 center coming on line shortly.
Anyone been scanning for new TGs lately? Tonight I heard what sounded like a fire dispatch on 49104, but didn't catch an agency.
I'll run a logging program to see what I get. RC

Rumor has it that FULCO is going to reband to some new frequencies. Stay tuned for updates!

Yeah i caught that ID the other day. 49104 is indeed an FD of some sort. The trucks kept calling Dispatch as "Chat Com", they also responded to calls on Mt Vernon hwy, Spalding drive, and Roswell rd, if that helps. I heard Battalion, engine, and Quint as designators.

I think we should try to identify some of the Unknown Talk groups out there. I did a quick id search and picked these up as unknown.

48752: Some sort of EMS for sure (heard them dispatch a unit to back up a Fulton EMS unit)
43984: Building Security or something?
43088: All I keep hearing is how many cars are in parking lots
48784: ?
42960: ?
43760: Maybe Building Security?

ChatCom is the new 911 center for Sandy Springs and Johns Creek, supposed to go live on 9/1/2009 per this article:

New 911 center ready to go live Sept. 1

Wow! I can't wait to see how ChattCom get's their listing in the database! They will probably rename it from Fulton County to ChattCom like what happened to the Cobb DTRS!

I can't wait for ChattCom to go live! No more screw ups by Fulton County that cost people their lives and all what happens is a couple people get fired! Hmmm, I wonder where Rocky is getting hired at?

Saturday I scanned Fulton system at work and picked up several new TG's. New R/M dispatch channel, tone out channel for RFD and several simulcast channels. I'll download and post here this week. Looks like they may be getting a couple new ChatCom channels and dispose of the old ones.

Last Night at around 2am I was listening in to 50800 Sandy Springs Police - ADMIN and I kept hearing a dispatcher this ch was very active last night with calls...from a fight at a waffle house..to a inmate that escaped that was running around roswell rd...and some other calls...and also I kept hearing ChattCom..so i dont know if this is gonna be the new ch for SSPD for ChattCom or what's the deal...defenitely this Ch last night was not being used for administration purposes...oh also the weird thing is that I heard a female and a male dispatcher why 2 dispatchers? so if anybody else heard this last night let me know...

Chris, you may have answered your own question, albeit unintentionally.

It looks as though the call volume during late evening hours, based on how busy you described that night, justified the use of two dispatchers. I'm sure while one dispatcher was on the air, the other was taking 9-1-1 calls.

Typically, my police department in Pa. (which is a college town, BTW - self-dispatched while the rest of the county is part of the county's dispatch system), has two dispatchers on duty during evening hours, especially on the weekend.

Chris,

You were hearing Dispatcher training....

As of Tonight 8-31-2009 @ 2330 Chatt Com is live. Just heard Johns Creek fire sign off permanently with Fulton and transfer to Chatt Com.

There are new Talk Groups on the Fulton TRS as I heard also Roswell advise all units to add Chatt Com to the Scan List, and remove Fulton Disp.

Unfortunately, I have not been listing closely enough to catch the new TGs.

With the switch over to ChatComm from Fulton, that will free up a bunch of dispatchers at Fulton so they can now answer 911 in 5 minutes instead of 10!

wait Mike, only until your agency is using digital radios do those calls get out faster (yes, I actually had a top official with Cobb county government try to lay that one on me back in 2005 during their SPLOST pitch. Sidenote: anyone else notice we are NOT getting around 65 million in SPLOST funded DOT improvements?)

Chris,

The Fulton TRS is not a Digital system in any way shape or form. Chatt Com is Analog, you may hear units from Sandy Springs on Dekalb, Cobb or Atlanta P25, and Johns Creek on Gwinnett P25 all of which are Digital P25 systems and radios wiould be cross programed.

The other side is the Fulton TRS is/will be rebanded as part of the Nextel/Fulton FRA but no P25 digital conversion is underway yet..

Now politicking for such, that's another story :-)
