Default Newton Co Question

Are there any public safety agencies monitorable in Newton County or are they all on OpenSky? I'll be down there in September.

They simulcast their Fire/EMS dispatch on 154.205 but that's about it for public safety. And the audio quality is pretty poor. A couple of weeks ago I heard Newton 911 get radio checks on neighboring Morgan County's VHF dispach channel and Butt's County's VHF dispatch county and they sounded really bad, almost unintelligible.

Default Butts County

Speaking of neighboring BUTTS COUNTY, I know they operate on 154.355 MHz, but what PL code do they use? Does anybody know that?

They are using PL 141.3. It is listed in the database but I was finally able to confirm it this weekend.

Would seem kind of strange that Butts County is using 154.355 / 141.3, and Barrow County - 2 counties to the north - is also using 154.355 / 141.3 ... and Taliaferro County - 3 counties east of Butts - is also using 154.355 / 141.3 .

That's what is listed in the RR database.

My logs from monitoring up and down the I-85 and I-75 corridor show Barrow County using 206.5 Hz on 154.355 MHz.

Maybe someone can clarify.

Barrow County is using 206.5 on 154.355. I don't know about Taliaferro. I did hear another agency on 154.355 using 156.7 but wasn't able to identify it. RR database shows two entries for Taliaferro on 154.355 for different PLs, both 141.3 and 156.7.

Thank you, Nunyax, for the confirmation on the Barrow Co PL tone.

The Mrs. and I will be making the trip down I-75 in early November, and I'll give the area a listen on 154.355 / 141.3 and 156.7. The Mrs. enjoys doing the driving, and I enjoy doing the monitoring ... a match made in Heaven.

CSHIFTLT - you may be correct about the latter freq / tone being Hancock Co / Sparta Fire, I wouldn't mind getting a log I can confirm, but I wouldn't be surprised if Sparta doesn't get alot of calls.
