Atlanta: need scanner recommendation

I live within eyeshot of downtown Atlanta with zone 3 precinct just a few blocks away. I used to scan APD channels using either my BC780XLT or BC245XLT and got great citywide APD coverage. I realize these are older scanners but they have given me many years of listening pleasure. I can no longer get APD since they went P25 and would like to know what scanner I should purchase. Recommendations please.

396XT, GRE 500 for portables, 996XT or GRE 600 for mobile. I've been using the 396XT with 0 problems.

I have the Pro-106 and Pro-197 (same as the GRE 500/600) And love them. Since you have used Uniden before I could see you going that route, I have always bought GRE myself.

If you go to Yahoo Groups, you can go to the FreeScan files section and download my Metro Atlanta file. It's pretty up to date and you may find it helpful.
