Their Open Sky's dispatch channel is the only one simulcast on VHF. I guess they have the units respond on other channels to keep the dispatch channel clear for other tone-outs.

I have heard the dispatcher and units talk occasionally on the dispatch channel but usually unrelated to an active call. Things like talking with the EMS supervisor on duty about okaying a mutual aid call for another county and such.

They have a "County Ops" and a "City Ops" channel for use by responding fire units. Only their "Dispatch" channel is in the clear because its simulcast on their old VHF frequency (154.205 MHz)
