Yes, thank you to whoever. It was really really bad. I didn't know what was going on. I've always thought a frequency was missing. There would be days I would hear nothing from D-ville PD. I was clueless on how to begin to fix it. Everybody on the forums is quick to point out what you are doing wrong instead of trying to help, so I didn't bring it up.
Thanks again

Cobb County P-25 (Georgia)
Updated frequency list for Cobb County P-25 (Georgia)
These are the exact freq.'s I found on decode of Cobb County tower 101 / 001.
Freq.'s:
851.16250 -- 851.70000 -- 851.88750 -- 852.16250 -- 852.55000 -- 853.03750
853.22500 -- 853.30000 -- 853.45000 -- 853.96250 -- 854.33750 -- 854.91250
855.33750 -- 855.63750 -- 856.21250a -- 857.21250c -- 857.33750
There were 17 freq.'s found on decode and I believe there should be at least one more freq. which may be the CW ID freq.
If the tower is transmitting a CW ID It did not show up on decode at the time.
Can someone closer to Mableton or Marietta decode Tower Site 104 / 004 and see if any of these freq.'s are active or match up to that site.
I tried to decode Site 004 while I was in the area around Hwy. 78. near Douglasvlille.
I may have been too far away to get a signal on the Control Channel.
Freq.'s:
855.91250 is the Control Channel. The Alt. Control Channel is unknown.
855.08750 -- 855.88750 -- 855.91250c -- 856.61250 -- 856.73750 -- 856.98750 -- 857.73750 -- 857.98750
The Control Channel for the Douglasville Site 103 / 003 was 857.93750 and the Alt. Control Channel was 857.76250.
The last time I decoded the system the CC was 857.76250 and the Alt. CC was 857.93750, so the CC must change every so often.

Could I ask you guys what type (Brand, Make / Model) portable scanners you are using? I've been using the RS Pro96. (no laughing please...) Naturally I'm uploading the current frequencies just listed below, but I'm sure there HAS to be a better working scanner on the market.

I'm sorry if I make you feel stupid, but the person who started the thread listed the scanners he is using. Mine are listed below.

well I'll be honest.... if I toss out a dumb question, then I deserve for it to be pointed out.... I totally didn't see those listed. Selective Vision I guess. I do appreciate you pointing it out. I will go study now.

I've got a 396T, 996T, 396XT and a 296D and the 296D out performs the rest of the radio! The audio is deep and rich where everything else is tinney sounding.

Cobb Garbled
I've just fired up my 296D, and programmed in Cobb, the P25 sounds garbled and jumps channels quite a bit. Is there a fix for this? I was reading about setting up the Trunk settings as a 800mhz Custom, but then it talks about a baud plan. Is anyone familiar with this setup?
Currently, I've got it setup as a 800mhz Type 2.

CODEPLUG - could you tell me how you go about "decoding a site"? I'm well aware of finding control channels but not familiar with what you described. Sounds very interesting.

I'm using the Pro96Comm. Whichever site you are closest too, it will decode.

I wouldn't care if the audio is tinny or deep and rich, I care more about how accurately it decodes. Pointless if it only decodes half of the transmissions. How does it perform in that regard?

It needs to be set up as a P25 system with the 9600 baud rate, it is not a type 2 system.

I get some weeps and gorps but I receive most all transmissions where the 396T & XT completely missed the signal. On my 296D I am using a 6" UHF whip where on my 396's I use 800 MHz antennas. At work, I have compared it to our XTS5000, and it copied all the same without a miss.
Always strange how the earlier can work hetter in some instances.

Mike, you should try a PSR-500. If you LIKE the performance of the 396, you'll LOVE how good the performance is of the PSR on the CC DTRS. Side by side with my XTS radio, the PSR has an excellent decode rate, never misses a beat. IMO, it is THE scanner to have for P25 phase I. Sure, it may look "fugly" and "old", but it WORKS. Sad that GRE is out of the scanner business.
