Anybody know what's up in Forsyth County? A few weeks ago they changed the North and South FCSO TG's to Patrol 1 and 2. Then they moved South traffic to Patrol 1 around 11p to 7a presumably so they wouldn't need 2 dispatchers while North is virtually dead overnight. A few nights ago they started moving EMS to Fire Dispatch overnight as well. In the past day or so they have changed IDs for virtually every TG and also changed UID's.

Motorola Versions in Cobb & Forsyth Counties

Both are at version 7.9 and must be to take advantage of some of the features of linking the two systems together.

Have not been hearing any traffic on Forsyth SO/PD/FD for the last day and a half. Have they gone to their old VHF, or maybe Cobb's system?

From what I'm reading the system is being merged and named Forsyth/Cobb County 800 MHz P25 System Interoperability according to the article.

Just a quick question for us radio novices - do I keep Forsyth programmed with their control channels or use the Cobb control channels? I assume from reading all this that they each use their own and they are software-linked, making it transparent to an old scanner-dog like me

Keep the Forsyth CC's in the scanner. Program what is in the data base and put the scanner in ID Search. I have 17 TGID's, 10 confirmed. I'm guessing that they will only affiliate with Cobb on their main SO TGID's.
HTH,
Larry
