Default Johns Creek: what happens when someone is bored

So, while Johns Creek is racing to move ahead with the new Unified Radio System buildout, several sites are slated to be built out. One of those key sites requires a 400 foot tower to be constructed.

This site will not only support the URS equipment and antennas, but is also required for the new Fulton county DTRS as it will be a key site to cover the northern most part of the county for both voice and microwave path.

Naturally no one except people like me would welcome a tower like this. But it's something else to go on a one person rampage and putting up a website full of complete, total guano like this person:

Stop the 400 Foot Tower in Johns Creek

Look mouth breather, it's needed. You want JCPD to be able to have coverage in and around your McMansion when some burglar breaks in? They need their radios to work. Your SUV is on fire and you're entrapped? You want FD and Rural Metro to be able to get that call and have reliable communications on the fireground.

Here's an idea: stick to what you know, which is gossiping on Facebook and Twitter and watching "Welcome to Sweetie Pies" on OWN. Leave the public safety radio engineering to professionals.

A 400 foot tower is needed to communicate in little Johns creek? Even if it does double for Fulton co., that's a pretty big a$$ tower just for a local 2 way trunking site.

It's not just for the URS, it is also for the new Fulton county systems,. and it also has to have a clear path for the microwave backhaul.

Keep in mind, this site will support all URS users: Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek and Sandy Springs, as well as Fulton county.

400 feet is not that high considering surrounding terrain.

Seen a topo map of North Fulon?

I sympathize with the person(s).
They don't want a large ugly tower in their town.
Just like they didn't want lingerie stores.

This movement can't be serious. No more serious than the 'movement' I have after a cup of coffee...but all jokes aside. I looked at the snazzy little website and it's nothing short of pathetic. Some self righteous soccer moms are most likely the people at the helm of this sinking ship. Luckily, in this case, we live in Georgia...where government pretty much does whatever it wants. Now normally I might object to some of the not so bright ideas that government churns out. But in this case I say go for it. It's a much needed piece of infrastructure for public safety comms. For those in opposition, find another cause...you're just polishing the brass on the Titanic.

So where are these brilliant 'grass roots activists' when the commercial developers come into town, tear up the land and build shopping centers we don't need? How many of those zoning meetings do they attend to voice their opposition? I bet if this 40 story structure where a shopping mall with a Tiffany's, a Bang and Olufsen store, a Starbucks and a Rolls Royce dealership they wouldn't be complaining.

Seems like they could have picked a more suitable location for this HUGE tower.

400 ft. isn't your average cell phone tower, now....

Actually that's an ideal spot terrain wise. 141 and State Bridge Road sits on top of a ridge so it's perfect for a site.

As for the concerns regarding the integrity of a 400+ foot tower (i.e. structural failure or collapse), people shouldn't be so worried. What about Gwinnett County's main DTRS tower site down at I-85 south and Jimmy Carter Blvd? Or the old Fox tower in Buford (which stands about 1,000 feet if I'm not mistaken)? Both structures have stood for years without a problem.

....Towers next to the interstate in Midtown is not really comparable to what is proposed for inside the city of John's Creek.

same whois info you will get for about half of the godaddy registrations IIRC. godaddy gives you the option to hide that data unless some kind of law is broken then godaddy will reveal it.
