City of Savannah to encrypt Dispatch, records and tactical talkgroups

A friend forwarded me an email indicating that the city is going to encrypt all dispatch, records and tactical talk groups on the cities system. It might be worth voicing your concern to the radio system administrator and the city council

Welcome to the club. Lowndes Country went over to P25 Phase 2 and encrypted everything. We have no rights to listen to Police, Fire etc. It was nice while it lasted

It's all still recorded, you can always get the audio after the fact!

Contact your local media... records and tactical talk groups makes perfect sense for encryption. Dispatch, not so much.
