Don't forget, depending on what you are looking for, you will likely need to pay for a frequency coordinator to identify a frequency (or pair) for you. FCC won't license some frequencies unless it has been signed off by an "official" frequency coordinator.
That can run $300 to $600 easy, maybe more depending on what you are looking for.

Unless you are going to operate within a fairly close range, even in the flat areas of Texas, you may wind up needing a frequency pair for repeater operations.
