Default Motorola Talkabout T9500 / New to GMRS

Does anyone know what the FCC ID is for this radio? I can't find it anywhere - I checked the manual, under the battery, popped off the faceplae - Serial #, model, brand.

I wanted to see if it was GMRS or FRS type accepted - I do have a brand new GMRS license I got when I bought these things.

The only mention of FCC rules is a part 15 compliance notice on the inside of the battery cover and a part 2 (RF Exposure limits) compliance statement in the manual.

Also the range on them is - horrid. Seems to work about 3/4 mile on the GMRS frequencies and around a whole city block on FRS frequencies, so I'm buying the Marine/GMRS hybrid (HH425) from Cobra since it has a detachable antenna using a SMA connection. Not that I have a boat, but I live in Superior, Wisconsin and I thought listening to the ship traffic could be entertaining. I know, no TALKING to the ships, but listening is always fun.

Neither radio is capable of repeater operation, but I dont know anyone with a repeater, or anyone else with a GMRS radio in the area for that matter, so I'm not sure what I'd do with a repeater capable radio anyway.

FCC ID# is K7GT9500, which should be cast into the radio's back, according to the FCC data/pictures, along with being on a label.

FCC Info on the radio available here:

https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/...ericSearch.cfm

Enter K7G under 'Grantee Code', and T9500 under 'Product Code'.

Almost immediately after I posted I did find the FCC-ID on the back. It just never even crossed my mind it wouldn't be on a label. It's molded into the back underneath the belt clip.

Not too impressed with that radio now that i see it's real power output from that FCC site - 1.03 watts in GMRS mode and 0.11 in FRS. I got it to transmit an entire city block in FRS mode and a mile in GMRS mode.
