the bubble packs at best buy and walmart will not be repeater capable, you will need to get a radio that can be programmed for semi duplex operation.

That radio? is repeater capable? how so?

Guessing they come preprogrammed from the factory with the input repeater frequencies from channel 15-22

Read the description, it tells you that it comes programmed with 8 channels for use with repeaters.

And for anyone going to buy the MR355R, dont get them confused with the NON-REPEATER CAPABLE MR350.

And of course dont forget that the FCC requires you to be LICENSED in order to use these radios.

In regard to the programming options of the mr 355, you can program it to utilize the repeater gmrs channels 15-22 and they will appear as 15R through 22R on the display after the regular gmrs channels 15-22. You still have to find out if there is a repeater within range, its tone and have to ask the owner for permission to use it.
