Default Gmrs equipment

Can anyone tell me whats is the best equipment for self programming gmrs radios are?

Do you mean GMRS Radios that you can actually program? Icom is what I use. More specifically I use the IC-F40GT. Works great.

What about mobiles that field programmable?

I use a kenwood tk 805d for uhf ham and gmrs both.

Field programmable means they are not factory programmed. Most commercial radio are field programmable. How they are programmed varies, some require software and a few are front panel programmable.

Many of them are out there. A lot of them you can even get the programming cables/software with purchase (but not with Motorola). Many radio's these days will hold minimum 16 channels, some over 200!

Just go to eBay and do a search for UHF equipment.

As mike said check ebay. The kenwood TK 805D that I have is only 16ch. but I can prog.it without a laptop and its dpl/pl both at 50 watts and allows non-standard tones. There are usually a few on ebay or eham.
