Default Gmrs in nj

Is there anyone in nj who operates on gmrs? Looking for activity in monmouth or ocean county nj!!!please help?

Just wanted to know if there any repeaters i can get on when i get my license in the ocean county or monmouth county area? Right now im looking at portables to see if it would hit the repeaters...if any

Yeah, he also hangs out on

www.popularwireless.com

and he runs a GMRS repeater database at

www.mygmrs.com

where you can search for repeaters and request access.

Yup, I'm all over the place. Never know where I may pop up! There's a few repeaters in Monmouth County, we own one in Morganville which has modest coverage, but certainly very usable in the Old Bridge area. I'm not sure about Ocean County since I'm so rarely in the area. Our Green Brook repeater makes it to Point Pleasant on a mobile although just barely.

There's also the Middletown repeater but it's not one of ours. It's listed on myGMRS.com though so you can request permission from the owner to use it once you have a callsign.

ok thank you but for right now im getting portables.......how are we soppose to talk on them ...like the lingo and stuff? how does family members get to use a radio w/o a license...i know under the primary but.......

I am relatively new to this as well, and I was wondering the same thing.

Are secondary family members covered by your GMRS license as well? Cousins/uncles etc.?

Only if they are in the same household or premises are they covered under the licensee.
