Default Psr 500

I notice When i have have my 396t and psr 500 scanning the same system. The psr 500 always has a loud hiss when it hits on talk groups and the 396t doesnt. Can anybody shed some light on this for me? It just seems the 396t is picking up a more clear signal where as the psr 500 isnt.

Are you using the same antenna on both? Try turning on the ATT on the PSR-500.
