Default Gre Psr 500 Questions

i have some questions on the gre psr 500.1does the psr 500 do esk and nac decoding? 2 does the psr 500 receive the motorola type 2 VOC?

Yes on both for question 1. Unfamiliar with usage for question 2 acronym. Voice Operated Command maybe...but don't see how that applies to scanners.

Edit: If I read the complete question, I don't think data is available for the scanner to broadcast.
Edit 2: RR Wiki is your friend. Mot VOC is not listed for GRE Scanners.

Well, the 500 will track ESK EDACS systems, and it will decode NAC if that is what your asking. And as Frank pointed out the Wiki does not list VOC (Voice On Control) as an available system compatability type for the 500, not that there are many of that system type around. It will however work with EDACS SCAT systems.

My guess, and this is strictly a guess since I don't know of any VOC systems around here to test it with, would be that it would be hit and miss, depending on the timing of the scanner being on the control channel data stream when a voice channel grant comes through.

If it happens to be on the control channel when that grant comes through, it may pick up the voice channel. If it's not on the control channel at that point, then the voice transmission will likely be ignored as the scanner will be looking for the control channel data stream at that point.
